Cadman and Woodsworth are having a hard time defining themselves this term on Council. For Cadman it is particularly difficult as he is away from official council business so often. So in an attempt to garner some media, COPE has come up with, as you have pointed out, a weak attempt at defining their principles. They should maybe have a caucus meeting or two to get on the same page.

On the greater matter of Vancouver officials attending the opening ceremonies. The citizens of Vancouver voted to host the Olympic Games. The Mayor signed an agreement with the IOC on behalf of Vancouver to have the Games. So why is the City being forced to buy tickets to its own event. City Councillors should be at the Opening Ceremonies as part of their official responsibility of hosting the games. I think we have paid enough already, building the infrastructure.
